When I was a kid - I remember looking up at the sun
I remember holding up my arm, akimbo, to shield my eyes
I remember that the rays seemed so bright
They seemed to peek through my eye lashes
And in between my fingers no matter how tightly I pushed them together
Thank god for those damn rays
