Fringe

Inspiration finally hit me this morning - like a ton of bricks apparently.  But the choices were bountiful today lovelies.  So this chic lovely was in front of me.  I flagged her down after being enthralled in her sleeveless trench.  That was what initially hooked me.  The detail on the armhole was a cuff that was fastened with a button that lay smack dab in the middle of the shoulder back with a point.  And then I saw her fringe bag.....THEN I was like, it's all gone Pete Tong.  I was sold on her entire ensemble.  Pop of white stripes underneath her coat.  Thick, over sized scarf.  Cleopatra bangs.  Almond-toed tango shoes.  And the Fringe bag....which looks dangerously close to the Prada Fringe bag that I dream about.....on a weekly basis.  On point doll face.  On point.

Warmth

Seriously, this slice of apple pie was just teasing me, like a leaf dancing in the wind, to take a picture of her.  Not literally, but I couldn't NOT do it.  The color palate alone was enough to catch my eye at 8:45am this morning on the way to work.  In the metro, no less.  The picture doesn't do her justice.  Her tresses were bubbling, sweetness of brunette, sun kissed beauty.  Her smile - so gentle and true.  The leather of her back pack supple and worn.....indicating loyalty.  All of these feelings came rushing into my mind like a rainbow.  Her deep camel jacket with the red plaid scarf peaking through her hair.  This is love.  Overwhelming.  Thank you for that darling.  xo

Be A Man

In true NDG (the hood where I dwell), I almost got hit by a car attaining this pic.  He was on the other side of the street.  Moseyin' like the bad, sweetest, genuine mofo he is.....and I darted across the street to stop him.  With no concern for my immediate safety.  Seriously.  Anyways, it was an epic moment.  Here we have the sweetest smile on a boy that I've seen in a while wearing a shirt that boldly states 'BE A MAN' in the standard format you would normally see 'RUN DMC' displayed.  Now, as lassez faire as this replacement catch phrase may seem.....it really isn't that common to experience a real live man these days.  And this one just breezed on down Sherbrooke street as if he were waving a flag of respect.  It touched me.  It made me smile.  And it, somewhat, raised the bar for all men.....sporting sayings on their attire.  Well done.  xo

Red Red Red

This tall drink of water was just about to step into his car out front of one of the local grocery stores when I snapped this.  Breath of fresh air.  Just enough to funkify my step.  Much love to those who march to the beat of their own drum.  Much like myself.  Two scoops and a sideways cone y'all.  <3

Cigarettes and Coffee

I have been OBSESSED with the color coral for the last few weeks.  I got this new lipstick - as worn here - yesterday.  Kiss Me Coral.  LOVE IT!!!!  It is rainy and grey here today - so, I will create my own Spring today!  I hope everyone's Easter weekend is going well.  And I will continue to listen to Soul and Blues and I will continue to drink coffee and smoke endless cigarettes until I am motivated to go out into the world and face another day.  Armed with my coral lipstick.  xo

 

 

 

 

Friends

In sync.  In step and color palate.  In arms.  The relationships I have in my life, the ones that are epic, are the ones built on friendship.  Thinking about that today.  And how blessed and thankful I am.  Thank you.

After much love and many shared times, I decided to show some Montreal love to a Jewelry designer who is a friend of mine and I have worked with in the past.  I will try to keep my personal affinity for this lover aside....but it might be hard....

Machete Designs - there are a few unique aspects to this product.  One of them being, all of the pieces you see here are one of a kind.  So, in a way, this is 'Haute Couture' at it's finest.  One piece.  For one person.  That can be altered, or better yet, you can request for a custom made piece.  You can give the designer a pendant to include, or you can dream to you little heart's desire an original piece of your own.  I have showcased here some of my favorites.  The colors are amazing.  Some of the pendants scream my name.....but the feathers put it over the top for me.  Contact her at info@machetedesigns.com

There is something so romantic and depressing about docks.  Boats.  Grey day in April.  Some of these places are crawling, overflowing, rampant with people like ants in the summer.  Here is a look at these places when the sun don't shine bright enough with heat and circumstance.  Still beautiful.  Even in the lack of cliche.

So, here we have Delfina Delettrez creations.  Jewelery designer extraordinaire.  I love that her body of work is largely influenced by nature and organic themes.  If you check ca, there are insect reference, body / bone / skeletal reference as well as a nod to the solar system and the process.  When I see her work, it immediately resonates with me in the sense that it is heavily visceral.  Honest.  As you well know, my responses are always towards truth and honesty.  Kinda like children.  They have this way of cutting through the bullshit.  Which I appreciate, and have appreciated my whole life.  They will level you with their cunning wit and core finding questions.  Always, the questions.  Always, the affection.  Always, the response.  Always.  Here is Asia Zahm.  The daughter of Olivier Zahm, one of the contributors of purple DIARY fashion magazine/blog and noted photographer of all things debaucherous, fashion, love, art and architecture.  I have been deeply enjoying his blog and in it his online chest/heart opening extravagants for months.
